Update <new news>
We'll it's June already and
'spring' is in the air. No not summer but it is warmer than
winter. School is out and we're back to Thursday night shows at the Downtowner.
Weather permitting of course as they are out on the deck. The rest of my
time is spent getting ready for warm weather. Working on my boats, sailing
and working around the house, And planning trips of course. There's always
some place to go. Musically, out in the distant future, I'll be playing
at K-Day in Sept and in Grand Rapids in Oct for an MTU football tailgate
party, Besides assorted gigs at Greeks etc.
Also a show in Amasa at the
Rusty Sawblade on Sat June 20th.
An extra
note: As folks move around, emails addresses change and I get an increasing
number of undeliverables when notifying you about upcoming shows. Several
folks at recent shows did not get updates about the show and found out
from friends at the last minute. I don't know how many more missed the
shows. If you want to get updates of gigs in your area please send me a
note with the email address you'd like me to use. Please put 'my
email address' in the message bar so I don't
delete you as spam and include the area that your from. This way I'll include
you in a regional folder. Email me at <garyt@up.net>
I'm looking forward to summer this year. Life is pretty good and fortunately I've have not been negatively impacted by this economic meltdown. (yet) As a matter of fact it has created opportunities for me. But at the same time I'm playing it very conservatively. Musically, A gig here and there seems to be just about right. Gotta keep my fingers and voice in shape though.
Financial planning and insurance has become the business part of my life. Which I've gotten quite used to. In the summer I only work TueWedThu. The good news is that with the Financial products that I have available to me, my Clients money has remained safe and in some cases actually grown during this financial meltdown. Of course past performance.....
Must be somethin more
to say, it just doesn't come to mind.
Can't seem to get myself into the studio any more. Got the old album Standin in the Rain mixed down to digital and onto a CD. Standin in the Rain is an album of originals recorded back around 1989 in my old analog studio. I like the songs but the engineering is a bit dated. I dumped each track onto my digital 12 track recorder and cleaned them up quite well. But many tracks were recorded with reverb and other things that I can't remove. However if you've owned to old version you know what it sounds like, the new one is much better. Things are coming together. It may be a while before I get Standin in the Rain up on the Cd order page so if you'd like a copy just order a copy of Stuck in the Present and in the message box say that you'd like Standin instead.
Keep looking up and looking ahead.
Take care all and Thanks, -gary

Come
and gone...
Shows on the Road have
ended for the time being. I've still done one here and there but
actual multi gig road trips are presently a thing of the past.Maybe they'll
return sometime in the future.
